It is possible that the suggested order is off because the product is a seasonal product and should be assigned a seasonal profile.
The graph on the product history screen should give you an idea of if a product has a seasonality pattern or not. The line shown on the graph represents the demand pattern. It takes up to the last three years of history and shows you the potential movement throughout the year. You may also see “Possibly Seasonal” above the graph. This indicated that the math is showing a strong chance of seasonality. If seasonality is still not readily apparent to you by looking at the graph, you can click the ‘Seasonality Analyzer’ button.
A small window will pop up and if any numbers appear in red the product has failed to appear seasonal to the system. The Seasonality Analyzer test is only a guide and not the final word. Your knowledge of the product and its history should determine the final decision.
*Note that the seasonality test is affected by the amount of history that is available… the more history the more accurate the analyzer.
If you believe the product is seasonal then apply a seasonal profile to the product.
Next you can review the product’s order point.
