In this article, you will learn how to set a max order point for a product. The max order point is especially useful for dated products. If you have a shelf life on a dated product, you may not want to order extra when the entire supplier is building a larger order to meet a supplier minimum. The max order point will ensure you do not have excess stock on your dated products.

In the example below, we will look at a product that needs a Max Days Order Point at 15 days. Currently, the supplier is adding 16 days to meet the supplier minimum order of 42,500 pounds.
As you can see below, the product is building an order with 16 days above the 15-day shelf life.
Navigation to the Max Days Order Point Setting
To begin, navigate to the product by using All Products on the product tags list.
Open the product by clicking the “cube” icon
Navigate to the SOQ Component screen
Locate the min/max fields
Setting the Max Order Point
You can create a max in days or in units. For this example, we will create a maximum in days. Enter the max amount of days you would like to use for the product’s order point and click the check mark.
You have completed the steps. Going forward, the K3S will now know the Max Days Order Point for this product. Once the next night job runs, all orders going forward will reflect this change. If you would like to see the change today, you will need to recalculate the order. See below.
How to see the change immediately
To see the change in today’s order, you will have to recalculate. Simply return to the main order screen, select recalculate, and you will see the change.
